Individual Therapy
Dr. Gross provides individual therapy for adults who are dissatisfied with the quality of their relationships, emotional lives, and professional situations. Within a supportive therapeutic environment, she helps patients understand their own behavioral patterns and develop new, healthier life strategies.
Dr. Gross has extensive experience working with patients on a range of issues, including:
- Depression and anxiety
- Sexual issues
- Relationship and intimacy concerns
- Stepfamily concerns
- Illness, loss, grief, and trauma
- Work-related stress
- Midlife transitional challenges
The first step in individual therapy is an evaluation session, in which the patient’s personal and family history are explored. During this first meeting, Dr. Gross listens and asks about the patient’s current concerns and his or her personal goals for therapy.
Once therapy begins, Dr. Gross meets with patients at a regularly scheduled time, usually once a week. Treatment plans are adapted to a patient’s specific needs, drawing on a variety of therapeutic techniques.
